Booze & Buzz Meadery to showcase craft mead lineup at Drink Seoul 2025: "Leading a new, meaningful drinking culture"

Booze & Buzz Meadery Inc. (CEO Kwansuk Yoo) announced its participation in Drink Seoul 2025 at COEX in Seoul from April 10 to 12.

Booze & Buzz Meadery is a Korean craft brewing company established to modernize mead, one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in human history, using premium ingredients and advanced brewing techniques.

Based on its original recipes, the company aims to create mead that pairs well with Korean cuisine and introduce a competitive "Korean-style mead" to the global market. Through continued R&D and commercialization, Booze & Buzz won first place in the braggot category at a major international homebrewing mead competition hosted by the European Meadmakers Association in 2019—a first for an Asian company.

At this year’s exhibition, the company will present a wide range of meads, including sparkling traditional mead made solely from honey, braggot with malt and hops, pyment with Korean grapes and honey, and bochet made using slow-boiling techniques.

Its flagship product, the traditional mead 'SIJAK BA,' contains 9% alcohol and offers a smooth drinking experience with floral notes and a refreshing carbonation. The company says it combines tropical fruit-like sweetness with delicate honey aromas, making it approachable for many consumers.

Another signature product, 'Hoppy Honey Bunny,' is a braggot-style mead characterized by the aromatic blend of IPA-style hops and honey. This brew, known for its distinctive personality, has developed a strong following among domestic enthusiasts.

The company emphasizes its commitment to sustainability, noting that it uses only eco-friendly honey sourced through ethical beekeeping. Through this exhibition, Booze & Buzz aims to raise awareness of mead among Korean consumers, cultivate a new drinking culture, and contribute to revitalizing the local beekeeping industry.

"We hope to introduce our mead's unique value to premium dining venues, pubs, and bottle shops seeking new alcoholic genres," said a company representative. "As Korean drinkers increasingly value meaning and sustainability in their consumption habits, we believe our mead offers the perfect premium alternative."

Drink Seoul 2025 will feature a broader range of beverages, including spirits, traditional liquors, wines, meads, and sakes. Korean distillers and spirit makers will present diverse lineups reflecting conventional and modern brewing techniques. In particular, participation from meaderies is set to expand. The newly added sake section will host eight importers showcasing over 90 brands.

Drink Seoul 2025 will be held concurrently with the Korea International Beer Expo (KIBEX), Korea International Beer Award (KIBA), and Korea International Beer Conference (KIBCON), offering a richer and more diverse program for attendees.
